Simteract has received confirmation from the publisher NACON that the studio’s game “Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator”, released in March this year, has already been played by around 200,000 players in total. This number includes both digital and physical versions. The game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The company has so far released four of the five announced updates, including the extension of support for PC steering wheels. Consoles will soon receive support for steering wheels.
– We are very pleased with the reception of the game, and we also have positive feelings about its continued popularity. It is clear that we have already resolved the initial difficulties with steering wheel operation and players have appreciated our support in this area. At the moment, we offer support for steering wheels from major manufacturers and other less popular control devices, which the market has been eagerly awaiting. All we have left is the final patch for console players — comments Simteract CEO Marcin Jaśkiewicz.
In “Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator” players take on the role of a taxi driver whose job is to provide transport services at the highest level. The game takes place in a large, realistically recreated part of Barcelona on a 1:1 scale, where players have to face numerous challenges, such as road repairs, unfavorable road conditions and demanding passengers. Ratings and tips depend on how well they cope with these difficulties, which allows them to develop and establish their own taxi company.
– As for further plans for the development of Taxi Life, we are in advanced talks with our publisher about the DLC. We know what players expect in this regard and we are at the stage of refining the details. We hope that we will be able to inform the market about it soon — comments Simteract CEO.
